  1. Humanity is far more dangerous than AI. Look around you.

  2. What a nut, why to misrepresent AI, no matter what AI programs have to be written by humans . Yes, it will continue to learn from it's mistakes and become more accurate the longer they are active. But honestly i would rather have a computer do predictive analysis for my health and have a doctor confirm that diagnose analysis. Machines make far less mistakes than people so if a machine points out some area that requires human review then great. And if a machine can go into a combat situation and prevent lost of life to military service personal then again sign me up . Stop being a fear monger AI is awesome and will save our lives , not destroy the human race. I'm sure people were against motorized cars in the 1900 as well.

What is this A.I. you speak of? I think the term you are looking for is “statistics”. Every example mentioned in this talk is just applied statistics and optimisation. These programs do not rewrite themselves: they just use statistics and optimisation to fine-tune some parameters. Do you want to know how they work? Just google “machine learning”, be warned though that it has to do a lot with math (statistics and optimisation mostly).

  4. Deni Fisher says:

People stop frustrating ur brains, average person lives 75 years,we live in a world where we just cant focus on that, there so little time and no one would focus on AI,i would like to do smth about this, but what can u do,except shuting up and mind ur own bussinness,in today modern world.
AI will go live and in the future minority will lose and majority willl agre on using Ai and its will be over in an instant,so ye,u get the pic.

Skynet is the virus. The enemies, us, human.

entitlement of ideology is your freedom but when it brings you to scrutiny before the eyes of men then you have to know that you dont really know ,the intelligence of man increases with the aspect of opportunity GOD gives us,,at the end of the day even that mad person you see on the street might have better IQ THAN WE ….we can never measure intelligence

God frowns upon cowards is what i heard…

  9. What’s really frightening is the 1.7 m views. “ The AI does this and that” is a heck of a statement. If you’ve actually tried to apply machine learning to solve a specific problem you know that it is powerful but fragile.

  10. They don’t have to manifest themselves to the transient destructive human race, -and have been around before organic life on earth; they are stars, planets and galaxies….and yes, the universe.

  11. a.i guised as human-beings are all around us Already, since long long ago. anyone reckognising this yet?

  12. but still, why are we doing this?

  13. tim knake says:

Yeah I'm not worried about it because A.I will get lazy like people.

  14. Matt Norman says:

It's like saying that my handgun is going to eventuality kill me, without myself or someone else pulling the trigger, that's a hoot!

  15. Even a channel like TEDx has to use clickbait titles now!

  16. At least AI will be better than us, if not even more "human" than us.

  17. Nick Rudd says:

    EMP blast will beat AI.
We need close quarters hand held blasters.

  18. Nick Rudd says:

They will never ban weapons, They will never ban AI or the 5G required to link AI robots to the system. Sold to us as 'The next great thing' Yeah right, Kill us off and replace us with AI free laborer's. Georgia Guide Stones protocol.

  19. eq2lornick says:

Take away the stage and slides and what does this look like?

  20. Big brother is coming.

  21. Snoot – the maybe 'not so obvious' answer is that WE CAN. Humans are inevitably built-in to explore and discover…And as likely, because it is apparently human nature; the misuse of 'AI' or any other science or discovery (e.g. stem cell science) is a certainty.

  22. MOST of us will be enslaved by humans using AI long before ALL of us are enslaved by AI using AI.

  23. Seems to me the most threatening issue with autonomous killing machines is about what is being removed and replaced (humans), as much as the abilities of the machines. There are severe limitations with human armies, as far as what they will and won't do, and its hard or impossible to make a conventional army do things that they consider wrong or unjustified (at least not without significant 'conditioning' over time). But a machine has no moral qualms, and if you have enough of them, your will is supreme and unchallenged.

  24. Once the 1% have armies of AI machines that can kill of their own accord, they completely remove the need for human armies (armed soldiers who are relied on to follow orders), and the limits that come with controlling humans with more humans – drawbacks such as reluctance to kill fellow countrymen, the unarmed, and/or women and children , reluctance to serve despots and dictators, the risk of coup's against unpopular leadership, risk of factions breaking off into armed opposition, risk of veterans using their training against them, and other similar things that come with giving limited power to the men that you rely on to obey orders. A worldwide totalitarian regime would only ever be possible with AI & machines in place of human soldiers. In order to dominate, suppress, and enslave everyone and anyone that they care to, with no need to cater to any normal principles of decency whatsoever, all they need to do is reach a critical mass of machines, and at that point no human army will be able to oppose them. And any attempt to build opposing machines can be quashed before it becomes a threat.

  25. Notur Queen says:

Wonder if the AI man will cheat

  26. Perhaps A.I. will realize the people trying to wipe out humanity are the PROBLEM.

  27. Why they will need kill as ? Art. intelligence need people to grow, it only needs to be invisible, and control humanity through media feedback they could also cover the shield in the form of politicians. Thanks 🙂
